Grenada Carnival Spicemas: August 1 to August 12, 2026

While several Caribbean countries celebrate Carnival, Spicemas must be seen as a Cultural festival unique to Grenada, especially for its J’ouvert, Traditional Mas, and Monday Nite Mas, which are definite stand-outs when compared to other Caribbean islands. It is a compelling expression of Caribbean culture and Street Theatre through music, dance, entertainment and cuisine, and of significant importance, all of these comes together and are enjoyed in a ‘safe crime free’ environment amongst hospitable people.

Monday Night Mas is a parade of lights, held on Carnival Monday Night, where spectators gather on the streets of St. George’s waiting to be entertained by thousands of masqueraders enjoying themselves whilst chipping down the streets to some of the local Soca music, in their neon and brightly colored garments and lighting instruments.
